Traditions become part of our family culture. It brings us closer together. Weaving faith within our traditions allows faith to become part of our home.
Share a memory. Tell us about your family's back to school ritual. How did you get ready? Was faith woven into the fabric of that tradition?

Dear Tonia,

My memory for back to school was that we'd go out to dinner to celebrate the blessings of the summer. It was a special event because it was the only time of the year that we went out to eat at the "supper club." While it didn't have a religious connection, it is a memory that I'm grateful for, time spent with my family.
How wonderful! Family, and the importance of family, is everywhere in God's Word. Though it didn't seem to have a religious connection then, it seems as if God was in your family circle as you counted the many gifts of the summer.
ReplyDeleteI take pictures of my kids in front of school and with their teachers. I like that we have crosses outside each entrance of the school we can have in the background but I would like to find new ideas that would reflect our faith and build excitement for the school year.
